Cuffs of the Month - Seersucker
After being hunkered down inside for two months, May is bringing us hope that we may finally be reunited with life as we know it --- and that includes spending time with our loved ones. With Mother’s Day approaching, the timing could not be better. As you prepare to get reconnected with Mom, we want to honor another group of special women. From May 1st - May 15th Beyond Cuffs is donating 15% of all proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Our Founder Cynthia Sadler lost her beloved sister-in-law, Carolyn, to this dreadful disease in 2016. Whether it’s Covid19, Mother’s Day or Breast Cancer, we're always reminded that life is precious and fragile and that we need to hold tight and cherish those we love. We wish you and your family abundant health and wellness and a beautiful May Mother’s Day. Thank you for helping us support the women we all love!
Stay safe. Stay well and keep reading for ways to prepare your spring and summer wardrobe.
Beyond Cuffs is passionate about accessories, because accessories have the power to transform personal style or a single outfit many times over. As fashion icon, Iris Ampfel advises, “Put your money into accessories. You can create a million different looks.” You don’t have to have a closet stuffed with tons of expensive clothing. The key is to be strategic by choosing quality pieces that flatter your figure and bring you joy. With a simple, solid base, accessories help you make every outfit your own, add interest and give you the ability to play with style combinations for endless outfit possibilities. This month we’re putting an emphasis on accessory combinations using our Cuff of the Month --- or we should say Cuffs of the Month. This May we want to showcase our entire spring/summer Seersucker collection.
Let’s pair them with other spring/summer accessories to transform your look -- again and again.
LIGHTEN UP YOUR CORPORATE ATTIRE
That dark suit was perfect for the cold, winter months, but get ready to make it over for spring and summer. Add a pair of Seersucker Signature Cuffs in pastel with a light-weight blouse to match. A blue blazer and seersucker combo is the ultimate in traditional style, perfect for the office and breezy enough for the spring and summer months. Add a floral pocket square or neck scarf for extra-accessorization.
Fun fact: Seersucker has been a favorite fabric weave since the 1600s. How’s that for traditional style?
COVER IT WITH A CARDIGAN
Cardigans are a must-have for every transitional wardrobe. You can get them in every color, ranging from light crochet to a heavy knit, and from bolero to floor length. Add a sweet, classic cardigan to your favorite sundress or a light-knit, ankle-length version to throw over your tank top with denim and sandals. Our Seersucker Signature Cuffs come in traditional blue, white on white, or summer neutrals so that you can find the perfect pairing to elevate your spring and summer favorites.
Fun Fact: Seersucker comes from a Persian word that is translated “milk and sugar.” Sweet!
ADD TEXTURE WITH STRIPES AND FLORALS
We say it and say it again, “pattern mixing is everything!” Don’t get stuck on solids. Seersucker pairs just as well with your best spring and summer florals. Play with patterns and textures to find a complementary combination to make your summer wardrobe “next level.” See our note above about adding a scarf with another floral pattern to bring even more pattern and texture. Tie it around your neck, your waist or turn it into a hair accessory.
Fun fact: Seercuker became a fashionable, leisure time fabric when Ivy League students from Princeton gave it a style transformation in the 1920s.
TOP IT OFF WITH A SUMMER HAT
Who doesn’t love a great hat? From a sheriff style, fedora or an oversized sun hat, this accessory is always a head-turner. A pair of Seersucker Signature Cuffs against a straw hat screams summertime! Whether you’re in your own backyard or on vacation, this accessories combo will have you looking resort-wear chic!
Fun fact: Seersucker is breathable, dries quickly and doesn’t need to be pressed, making it an ideal and easy-to-wear summertime fabric.
We encourage you to play around with these accessories and try them all (even all at once) to find a fun, sunny weather look that brings together your favorite traditional style elements for a look that is all you!
Happy Wardrobing, friends.
